The American Black Woman casts her
Piercing eyes on me,
Her inner jewel shines
Nevermind the pedigree,
She’s the protector, the contributor
And the PhD – See,
as this woman’s strength, dares to think,
then so shall my girl.. be…
For whether she’s on the board
Or in the hood, she’s a part of all that’s good,
And her laughter Sings of pure energy;
Watch as all that freedom flows,
Through her character and tight cornrows
While she radiates the world’s destiny…
And her smile is so intense to my sight,
She, is America’s guiding light
With her buns curving round and round,
With no apologies
She brings comfort to the small,
Leaves false authorities
Strapped to the wall, then never silenced,
The Nubian Daughter; she winks at me…
Carmel sweet, this exotic, brown sugar
earth mother erotic,
And through the muck and mire
She is still creative under fire,
Oppression is just the springboard
This beauty uses to inspire
As she crosses those big legs, gracefully…
Check it out:
Her true value, subcutaneous,
In this a woman ever generous,
And as a warrior she stands
while her secret softness nurtures the land,
She wears the whole armor of God,
And therefore can withstand
Her loins girt with truth
She knows it’s the grace that gets her though,
And she takes upon,
the breastplate of righteousness
as a part of the armor of God
preparing for the gospel of peace
With faith as her shield
and her salvation helmet
The faith of this woman will not yield
She gives the best to bless us,
This is a woman ever generous,
And as a warrior she stands
while her secret softness nurtures the land,
Till at night when she bows her head…thankfully.
